The fifth and the last season of Six Feet Under had total twelve episodes and it was first broadcasted on 6th June 2005 and the season finale happened on 21st August, 2005.

Nate suffers from a massive seizure and is rushed to the hospital. While Nate is in the operation theatre, undergoing an operation, things between Brenda and Maggie heat up in the waiting area. In another place, Ruth and Hiram are camping in the wild and Ruth has no idea about what her family is undergoing in Los Angeles.

The whole family is divided over Nate’s funeral. David comes to face the fact that he is now the only one left to take care of the family business. Keith learns something very embarrassing at his work. Nate challenges Brenda, who then takes a very sad decision regarding Maya. A door is closed on Maggie’s face.

The worry of a take over looms over David’s mind and Keith supports him as well as the boys. Brenda sees Nate in her visions and now has to take a crucial decision regarding Billy and her relationship with him, as he continues to help her. George expresses desire to aid Ruth to take care of Maya. Claire is drowned in sorrow and turns to alcohol, drinking badly and hallucinating at grave of Nate. Rico on the other hand, wants to discuss business.

David finally accept his demons. Nathaniel Sr. has a discussion with his youngest son. Brenda’s delivery happens early and she confronts negative approach of Nate. Margaret is pleased with Olivier’s caring side. Vanessa and Rico rejoice a business decision. The family raises up a toast for Nate at the farewell dinner organized for Claire who goes away, leaving others whom she loves very much to witness some turns in their future.
